Canon 70-200/4 IS noise

I have just upgraded from the non IS 70-200/4 to the IS version and was just checking on the noise from the IS sytem. The IS noise itself is of no concern as I know it is nosier than many of today lenses but similar to the 300/2.8 that I had. Is it normal to hear a higher pitched click when the IS first turns on and then when it finally turns off? Just wandered because I have not heard this on any of my other IS lenses.
 
Hi, I had the same concern and swapped the original for another and the second one was quieter but still noisier than the 70-300L I tried a couple of months before I bought the 70-200L.
Everyone who replied to my post said it was normal.
 
Thanks for that guys, sounds perfectly normal. I only received it today and after taking it for a spin this afternoon the IS was working great which is the main thing. I was comparing it with the Canon 100 macro IS which is near silent.
