Canon 70-200 F4 NON IS

I know a good few Canon landscapers who have this on 5d mk2's and love it - small, light, sharp and when on a tripod who cares that it's f/4 and non-IS. But if you do need to use it handheld, f/4 is twice better than a f/4-5.6 lens! And gives you room to add a 1.4x TC and become f/5.6 on the times you really need too.

Just wish Nikon did one!

well. everybody sells for profit. I mean - the companies. every one has different approach . and yes, ebay is half dead for the bargains now ! :(
 
Had one loved it, sold it got the IS loved it, sold it, got the 2.8 IS, love it not selling it,

Just avoid all the postage and go for the big guy

My 70-200mm F4 non IS is my favourite lens. Very sharp and balances well on my 40D. Given the choice, I would have liked to gone for the IS version, but at nearly twice the price the sums didn't quite add up.
 
My 70-200 turned up today (12 days late; cheers City-Link :razz: ) and I can now see why people dribble over L glass.

Even on this entry level L glass, which by the way at £474 is an absolute STEAL brand new, everything is so much nicer than your standard lenses.

It's like sex for the first time, you didn't know what you've been missing, but damn you're going to have a lot more :D

I should add though, that if you're pondering getting the 2.8 over the F4, it may be worth saving for. While this lens is fantastic, I can already see it's limitations being an F4. If you need the range covered and know you wont have the extra £400 for the 2.8 then don't hesitate to buy this, it's wonderful! So smooth and silent.

I've not had a chance to take more than a couple of shots with it to do simple checks, but so far it seems awesome.

Keep looking on the forum for one to pop up, it will sooner or later and don't be afraid to barter :)

highly unlikely to find one for £300 though eh , around £350 seems to be the going rate .............

Yep, had my eye on this lens and £300 = total bargain, £350 = average, £400 = top end of the used price range/fairly new.

So the one I got for £260 a few years ago was a real bargain then :D :D

Love it, not planning on selling!
