Having had the lens for a year now, I thought I'd just like to let everyone know that I have had a faultless year of usage from the lens. it has been through the mill so to speak, shooting Rugby and Football Galas/Festivals, European Quad Racing in France(Very Dusty), Gymnastics and SuperLeague Rugby to mention a but few. It is basically the workhorse of my kit and as such I just want to give it a glowing review!!! Sharp, fast, accurate focussing with accurate colour reproduction, The only two downsides that I have to say about it are Firstly, its an heavy beast and carrying it all day does take it's toll on wrists and shoulders...secondly, if the focus position is at the extreme end of the focus run and the subject distance requires it to be at the other end of the focus run, the lens does not focus......I had the same issue with the Mk1 version....the way round this is to manually turn the focus nearer to the subject distance and then off it goes doing it's perfect best.....
When used with the 1.4 TC mk2 it was just as quick to focus and still as sharp as ever...The 2x TC was not quite as good but I very seldom used it on the 70-200 as the 300mm and then later the 400mm was more suitable.
Would I recomend it ?.....Without a shaddow of a doubt I would...
