Well I have finally saved and decided on the canon 7D, but everywhere seems to be out of stock:(

Anyone seen a good price in stock?

A lot of Canon gear is in short supply following the earthquake. Good luck with your hunt.
 
I too decided on getting one but nowhere got them so trying source a second hand one... Now thinking maybe 5DMKII
 
You probably will not regret getting the 15-85. I only wanted the body originally but the nice man at SRS offered ne the 15-85 at a "rude not to" price and after some thought I bought it. Very good lens.

Dixons/currys have appeared since last night, I could do with one this next week and dont want to risk buying online then getting an email saying stock due in soon.
 
If Dixon's say that they are in stock then they most probably are, I recently went through some trouble with them because they WILL verify the transaction by phoning you (since it is over £1k) and they couldn't get hold of me on the number I provided...so they cancelled my order!

They did get stock in the next day which I quickly grabbed and then all was good, just don't choose free delivery because that can take quite a few days.

You could try something like quidco to get 3% cash-back as well.

Thanks for replies. Now I am torn whether to get the 15-85mm, is it worth it? It would replace my Sigma 18-50mm F2.8. But I you mainly a canon 50mm F1.4 and wide angle wise I have a Tokina 12-24, so I am not sure if the 15-85mm would get the use to justify it?

Thoughts on the 15-85mm?

It's a great lens. The IS is very good. Not a fast lens though, so if you value 2.8 for the depth of field, or need it for moving targets indoors, it's probably not the best choice.
 
I've got a 7D and 15-85mm and TBH I can't fault the combination. The lens is nice and sharp and offers a good range. The drawback is that it isn't particularly fast but I don't think it's ever caused me a problem.

If it did then I'd use my 50mm f1.8 to bail me out ;)
