canon 7d (blue photos)

Hi to all i just purchased a canon 7d
i had it on its first photo shoot today
i was using a mottled grey back ground with natural light
Photographing children
all photos coming out blueish very cold looking
i reverted back to my other canon which gave lovely results
Any ideas appreciated
my settings were
WB... auto
manual.. apture and shutter speed
18..55 lens

Sounds like a WB issue but no idea why two Canons would give radically different results, but hey ho...

If you're shooting raw you can adjust the wb post capture but if you want the pictures to be more or less right out of the camera you'll be best off doing a custom wb and doing test shots until you're happy adjusting for best effect.

Agreed, sounds like a WB mismatch.

If bought 2nd hand even though you have selected Auto WB could the previous owner have manually set a colour temp shift that Auto WB still honours???

Maybe do a full reset?

Just thinking out loud as it has been a long while since I used a 7D let alone ever altered the colour temp shift..........does the 7D offer that : scratches head:

Thanks for your reply’s I will go through the white balance adjustment and all that stuff I will also reset the camera to factory default if it’s available .The previous owner used it for video only

At a pinch a piece of white printer paper can be used as a white source to set the custom WB.
