Canon 7d Eyepiece Extender?

Well after buying an ep-ex15 to find out it doesnt fit, is there any other alternative to moving the eyepiece back slightly?

I've read a quick guide to making the Aquatech CEP-1B fit onto the 7D which requires a little bit of internal trimming with a scalpel....far less traumatic than filing the last 1/2" off the end of your nose.

IIRC (I don't have a 7D but have just bought one for my 5D) either the Nikon DK-17M of the DK-21M fit the 7D - worth checking it out.

Also it's worth noting that the EP-EX15 reduced the size of the viewfinder image by about 10% - the Nikon's increase the size of the viewfinder image.

The one I ordered is a Tenpa one which has pretty good reviews - not sure if they do one in a 7d fitting.

I'm surprised the EP-EX15 doesn't fit - I'd have assumed it's the same as the 5DII which I have one on.

Other than that I don't think there is an 'official' Canon extender for the 7D.

I thought it would but it doesnt, no where near big enough soemthing to do with the 7D using the same size eyepiece as the 1D's

Will look into the Tempa ones, can you still see all the info in the viewfinder with one of those?

Bob, you never fail to make me laugh. Can you remember where you saw that guide, really dont want to shorten my nose!

Had a read of that Bob, thanks although the reviewer wasnt overly impressed with it. According to this the Nikon ones dont fit either.

Aquatech have one designed for the 7d but would like to see one fitted really.

TENPA 1.22x Viewfinder Magnifier Specially for Canon 7D

You can find these on ebay once in awhile....
it extends your face back away from the camera enough not to hit your nose.
 
yeah i got one of those in the end, i ended up taking the lens out of it as i didn't like the field of view it gave.

Hi,

I don't know if this helps, I was sick of squashing my nose on the LCD and the only thing I found was a Hoodman Hoodeye. It's a Video Loupe but made for the 7D and other Canon cameras. Fits a Treat and can be Rotated for left eyed people as well.

If this helps but you cannot find one give me a Shout.
