canon 85mm 1.2L mk2 for weddings

Hi

Just wondered who uses this lens for wedding coverage?

Would like to get a longer prime (currently use a 35mm 1.4L on a 5D mk2) and shoot in available light wherever possible, so the 85mm 1.2L mk2 ticks those boxes and the pictures from it look mid blowing. Have read about the slow AF but would be nice to hear from togs who use this regularly and to see how practical it really is.

I have the Sigma 85mm f1.4 and love it. But the DoF at 1.4 is tiny and you really need to be on your toes to get images with the focal point where you want it.

It is also half the price of the Canon f.12 and the AF is a load faster. Plus it is £1000 cheaper ! Which will buy you a 24-70L for a general walkabout lens.

Do you need f/1.2? Canon has an excellent f/1.8 version, and it is one of their fastest focusing lenses. It does sometimes really surprise me how fast and accurately it adjusts.
