Canon autofocus lens repair

Hi, does anyone know if the autofocus/motor on my Canon EF 70-300 1: 4-5.6 IS USM lens would be too expensive to repair, it's a really good lens but the autofocus stopped working, sounds like it's jammed?

or if anyone's had the same problem on similar lens, what did it cost.

Best phone Canon at Elstree but at a guess £100 - £150 so it will be worth fixing.

Can you hear the IS kicking in?

Hi, it just makes alittle noise like it's jamed, a little zip like noise for 1/2 second?

It's the black lens not the grey one, cost around £400 but had little use, does it cost much for a quote?

They may estimate over the phone, last time I had an issue it was a fixed cost of £100. But if you send it to them for a quote you have the option of having it returned so you just lose the postage costs.
