Just spent £1200 on the TS-E 24mm f/3.5L mk II & no the wife hasn't a clue. Thankfully she doesn't know one lens from another. Last year I bought a 1d mk iv & she thinks it's my old mkii.
 
Let me know if you get the lens for under £2k as I'd buy one too. Maybe we can get a bulk discount.
 
I've got the TS-E 17, maybe thinking with Photoshop CC and the very powerful image distorted capabilities it has, might be more of a trade up?
