Hey guys got my new canon lens through the door the other week and i find its having some major issues focusing on an object (Studio or location) it drones
about forever to lock in.
Aond then once it says its sharp and i get my little beep i take the picture to find its out of focus ( not totally blurred but deffiently out of focus) I have only been shooting products and some portraits outside. can anyone shed some light on to this ?
I had my sensor cleaned a few months ago also.
Cheers

deffiently i mean today for example i must have been well over 5+ foot from where my subject was and it does eventually say its focused but when i check the image back its out

i had used every thign i could , different apatures, always fast shutterspeed , one shot af , single shooting, using the single middle AF point and auto. anything i could . any ideas ?

Could you post some examples of the shots themselves? Might help to identify the problem :)

Have you checked the switch on the side of the lens where you can alter the minimum focus distance ?
I've switched that a couple of times and forgot to switch it back.

I've done the same with that damn AF/MF switch two.
Disadvantage of using AI Servo frequently, is that you get used to it not beeping for focus
