Having decided to go for a 6D with a 24-105 IS lens i would like to find a suitable telephoto lens.
In the past i have used the EF 70-200 F2.8 L non IS and liked it but that was a crop camera.

So has anyone used the 70-300 L on a 6D and if so how has it performed?

The problem with Canon is there's too much choice in the 70-200/300 range ;) All options have their strengths and price points, and all are excellent in slightly different ways.

I have the 70-200L 4 IS, that I bought when neither the 70-200L 2.8 Mk2 nor 70-300L was available. I like it a lot, and it takes a 1.4x extender well, but if I was buying now I honestly don't know which of those three I'd buy

Then there's the Sigma 70-200 2.8 OS that is very impressive and so very nearly as good and much cheaper. Hmm... I've used them all and am still none the wiser :D

I have a 6D and 70-300L but haven't used them together yet, as only just got the 6D plus I intend to continue using the 70-300L on my 7D. As for how it will perform I would expect it to perform brilliantly as it does on the 7D. Obviously it won't have the same reach but cropping would correct that.
