Free Canon ef300L is f4

Hi there, is the ef300Lis f4 still worth purchasing now ? I use my ef70-200L f4is either on 650D or my 6D+ Kenko 1.4x 300 pro. Pics from this combo are great. I,m 90% into Butterfly photography. I have read on various forums that the ef300f4 is ok for my use.

It's an excellent lens for butterflies, damsels and dragons. Very close focusing for a telephoto and hence has a high magnification (0.24x)
