Guy confirmed dispatch but isn't sure when it will arrive. I'm working on the theory of Friday so im not disappointed :D

Reading DP review seems like its a promising camera! Looking forward to receiving it. Next stop - FITP to buy some cheap flashes and wireless triggers for some strobist stuff :D

I've still got mine (daughter uses it now) and still get fantastic results with it - I'm sure you'll be very pleased with it :thumbs:
 
Ok confirmation from courier that delivery is now Thursday :D

Anything special about the 300D I need to know about? I've already installed EOS utilities along with associated apps. Looking forward to shooting digital and film again :)

I did this with the one I had. Made a big difference, especially with the Flash Sync lock at 1/200 and the mirror lockup.

Among the functions the firmware hack makes available are:

* Enables Custom functions menu
* Enables Flash Exposure Compensation using SET button
* Enables SET button function when shooting (to change image quality or shooting parameters)
* Enables Shutter release w/o CF card
* Flash sync speed in Av mode
* Enables RAW+JPEG rec. Enables setting the quality of embedded JPEG
* Enables Mirror Lock up
* Enables the ability to select the autofocus mode: AI servo, Oneshot etc.
* Enables setting ISO 3200
