Canon EOS 550D

Looking around the web earlier i picked up a jessops link for the new 550D which surprised me as the dust hardly seems to be settled on the 500D.

What i did notice when looking on youtube was the fact that there seems to be quite a few 500 owners not happy as they've just invested in that when along comes the 550 and also several semi-pro/pro canon users unhappy that the quality of the HD recording is lifted from the higher end models.

Your thoughts on the new model?

People who get upset because a new model is released - well they shouldnt. If they bring out a 7D mk2, I wont be upset at all. Bodies come and go quickly, example the 450D was massively popular and now being deleted. Just technology moving on.

Lenses are a different kettle of fish all together.....

Apparently, it is not a replacement for the 500D, but slots in above it.
