A friend of mine is trying to wean herself off "Sports Set Up" on her Canon 600D. I have a Nikon D7200 and haven't used Canon for 20 years or more. On the Nikon, I set up Auto ISO and a minimum shutter speed for the "action" event I'm snapping at.
I then control the aperture, which suits my style of image, as I'm usually trying to achieve a shallow depth of field to lose the background. (not always)
Are there similar settings on the Canon?
Had a look on you tube but not found anyone who goes through this in a simple and informative way.

The 600D is a fairly base level camera. Just had a look in the manual for my 550D and there's no mention of being able to set a minimum shutter speed (that I can see at a quick glance) so you may not have that ability on the 600D. If not then the easiest thing to do is use M mode (I won't call it 'manual'.........') with a chosen aperture and shutter speed and auto iso.
