When using my Canon EOS 600D "through the viewfinder" -but not live view mode - I have a problem. The mirror flips up as normal but then it "bricks" - goes completely dead and the shutter refuses to open, all the lights and the back LCD screen go blank as well.
The bizzare thing is that live view works fine, which would suggest that the shutter itself is OK.
Is this likely to be a "wear and tear" issue that would invalidate the warranty? I've had trouble with warranties before.
And yes, I have used magic lantern before but my understanding is that it runs "over" the firmware. A re-install of Canon's own firmware made no difference.
