Canon EOS 7D Issue

A couple of months ago I bought a 7D to complement my 5D2 and I have to say the camera has been perfect and in many ways better to use than the 5D2. After taking about 4,000 shots the the camera seems to have developed a focusing issue. I am just getting to the end of going through and processing about 2500 images taken recently and the last 400 - 500 are out of focus, the time this started to happen is around 10:30 am on a particular day, with no setting changes or knocks or anything like that and I have just taken some test shots to make sure I`m not going crazy, and sure enough they are out of focus too.

I have tried various lenses and all show the problem, but they all work fine on the 5D2, so I have narrowed it down to the 7D body. I wondered if the problem sounded familiar to anyone, or you guys had any ideas, before I go back to the retailer/Canon.

If its under garantee send it back. But it sounds like one of two things the focus screen has come lose and moved, or the micro adjustment has been set. One quick fix you could try is do a bios rest by removing both battereys for awhile. Theres a 2p size battery compartment next to the normal battery.
 
I did a hard reset (removing both batteries) on my 7D and it made a difference to the focusing. When removing the batteries make sure you leave them out for at least an hour, that's the advice I was given.
 
I`ve just done a full reset and left all batteries out for 4 hours and updated to the latest firmware and it hasn`t made any difference, so I guess it`s back to the shop. :thumbsdown:
