I’ve been advised by a local camera shop that the Canon R7 would make a good buy. I have a Nikon D7500 at present. I’m really at the novice stage so technical details may go over the top of me. Quite a few reviews of the Canon suggest it’s good for wildlife photography which I’m not really interested in. I’m looking to try my hand with landscape photography. Any thoughts on the Can would be appreciated
 
The prerequisites for landscape photography would put other cameras way ahead of the Canon R7.

That’s a salesman looking to hit a target rather than meeting customer requirements.

Budget? No more than £1500

Don’t take landscape at the moment so fancy getting into it

Lens- I have 18-300 and 16-80 lens

Any recommendations for a camera better than the Nikon D7500 I have or is this good enough?
 
I'd say your current lenses are holding back your IQ more than your camera. I'm not an expert on Nikon crop lenses, but in your shoes I might be tempted to buy a Nikon D610 and a couple of prime lenses to shoot landscape, or just a decent lens for your current camera.
