Canon Eos Rebel xs 1000d or Panasonic G10

Hi all

im looking at buying a camera and have seen a couple and was wondering on what people thought between the Canon 1000d and the Panasonic G10.

This will be my first proper camera and I say proper in the sense that I have only ever owned point and shoots.

Iv been wanting to get a camera for a while now that will take better pictures, im not looking at becoming a professional just a casual shooter. I am new to the photography game so that is why I am here to look for some impartial (i want to sell you a camera) advise.

Having gone through a 30D, E-P1, 5D MkII and onto a G1 in recent years...I would say the G10, no question.

It's so compact and light, it's never a burden to take out with you....which in my opinion is the critical factor for a casual photographer.
