Canon et-86 lens hood

I bought a canon 70-200 f2.8 is mark I however it didn't come with a lens hood. I was wondering why the canon one is so bloody expensive! And are there any third party alternatives that I can buy. I'm also interested in white ones however I never know if it would match the color of the lens.

Probably not, the lens is off white and this looks whiter. But it's cheap, and it's only a tool.
Cheap ones are likely to be of lesser quality than the canon ones too, and might not fit or lock as well.
