Try to get the newest film camera you can

IIRC, the last ones to be made were

the EOS1v, EOS3, EOS30 and EOS33.

These are usually available at pretty good prices nowadays

Canon EOS5 is a lovely camera. That much intact I have 2. I got mine for £25-30 each.

Hi all

I have two Canon 1000f cameras at the moment and both have temperamental shutter operation due to the rather epic design flaw outlined here: http://photonotes.org/articles/oily-shutter/

The fix works, temporarily for about half a roll of film and then it fails again.

Hsa anyone got any suggestions for an affordable Canon film camera with nice features, with a decent shutter assembly that isn't prone to these kind of failures. A fast shutter speed, up to 1/4000 or higher would be nice too, but not a necessity.

I would change over to something else like Nikon or Minolta but I recently bought a rather nice 50mm f/1.8 mark I and I'm not looking to get rid of it.

I have an eos1n, great camera, never let me down! Steve
