Canon film SLR lenses to use on a EOS 60D?

I have been offered some old canon 35mm film SLR lenses, can I get adapters for them so I can mount them on the 60D? would they be extremely difficult to focus manually with as my viewfinder is not 100% and does not have the focusing aid like in the old 35mm SLR's?

Canon had both FD mount and EF mount lenses in the film era. The EF ones will work fine with your 60D (assuming they're Canon lenses and not from other manufacturers).

The FD mount lenses need an adapter and generally not really worthwhile. Some adapters have a lens in them to allow the full focus range but the quality takes a dive. Others are glassless but you won't be able to focus to infinity.

The FD lenses have a small lever-like protrusion and an aperture ring which EF lenses don't.
The EF lenses have a row of electrical contacts and usually a switch for AF/MF that the FD lenses don't.

As per Jason's description but the simple way is that it's written on the lens.....FD or EF

And if they are manual focus they are FD autofocus EF
