I tried this weekend and failed.
Can anyone advise me what to do to restore the 7D to factory settings.
PLEASE on hands and knees I do not want to send it to Canon UK
Thank you all when you finish laughing.
Any help would be appreciated.

Now seems only to have 6 menus and no customised menus. Not tried to take a picture yet but will try again this evening.
 
Did the battery fail when you were installing the new firmware?

Need more info really, did you connect to the computer or transfer it from a memory card?

The restore to factory settings should be in the main menu, hopefully one you still have, but sounds like it was an incomplete firmware install to me

Must be worth trying again, but make sure you know exactly what to do and have a fully charged battery or mains power connected
