Canon flash

I have a Sigma Canon fit flash unit - EF-500 DG ST- and would like to use it off camera. I have a flash bracket but cannot use the flasgun, it won't fit. Is there a hot shoe converter that I can buy? I've tried the bay and google in general but don't seem to be getting anywhere.

Any pointers would be appreciated.
