Yes
Over the last few years I've put together a reasonable (by my standards) set of kit based on my KM 5D SLR. I've also got a fuji F30 which I bought for when I didn't want to drag my DSLR around.
Recently however I've found mysel wondering if I should simplify things and get a good quality "bridge" camera.
I have done a bit of sports photography and do appreciate the lack of shutter lag on the 5D but I think I'd take more (and better) photographs by having a camera that I would actually take out!
Any thoughts?

I don't think a g10 is a substitute for an SLR, but it can be useful when for some reason you want to travel light.

It is true that the best camera is the camera with you. So you need a lightweighted and compacted camera.

Canon G10 is absolutely powerful, and strong. I don't think it can replace a DSLR and make you more comfortable on taking it every day. I have a G9, it is good to go with for holiday. But I don't take it anytime with me.

I would suggest you keep your DSLR and purchase something like Ricoh GR-D. They are fixed focus, compacted and lightweighted.
