Canon G11 replacement

My trusty Canon G11 has now bitten the dust due to a leaking bottle of makeup remover (bloody women!). On the plus side I now have full approval to go out and get a new camera...

I really liked the G11 and used to take it pretty much everywhere. The IQ was definitely excellent at low ISO levels but would drop off as the ISO moved up the scale (as you’d expect). The obvious replacement to me appears to be the G15 but I can’t help but look at the other options which I consider to be:
- Sony RX100
- Canon G1X
- Fuji X10
- Fuji X20

I really like the look of the Fuji X20, but is it worth paying double the price of a refurbished X10? Has anyone any experience of both?

Also is the RX100 that good?

And is the G1X really that slow?

Any input from people that have used the cameras would be great.

G12 is still available and has a rotatable rear screen which the G15 doesn't have

I have a G1x and the picture quality is excellent due to is larger sensor.

I dont find the AF as slow as people claim to be - its slower than a SLR - but not any slower than any other point and shoot cameras i have used.

One important question though, do you have any Canon specific accessories ? Flashguns in particular. If so then don't dismiss the Canon G series. The G1x for ultimate, almost DSLR IQ (huge sensor but still a little bulky) and the closest focus distance sucks,
or the G15 as an all rounder for everything from macro (1cm close focussing), f1.8 lens (2.8 at tele end), Jpeg and Raw, optical viewfinder for the bright days when the screen on the back is as much use as a chocolate ashtray, and really quite impressive IQ for the sensor size and very pocketable . Big bonus with these 2 is that all your Canon hotshoe accessories will work fully. This opens up these little cameras to all kinds of possibilities with dedicated TTL and Off camera flash etc. Don't miss the swivelly screen thingy tbh, i had one on my 60d and i think i used it twice.
I sold my G7 and got a G15 from Santa and I have to tell you I am very impressed, loving it, loving it, loving it.

Thanks for the replies. I do like the idea of a G1X and I see the HK importers have a lot of cheap deals on the G1X, so I might see if I can have a play with one somewhere.

Does anyone have any feedback on the X10 vs X20?

Cheers!
