Yeah- seems to have a bad year for fungi. Normally there are lots in the local woods- this year I have been struggling to find specimens worth photographing.

The Canon G9 makes an interesting tool for this work- I don't know if you can tell from the photo's but these are all small species and the camera is lying in hole dug into the leaf mould to get the required low angle of view. I doubt if you could get low enough with a DSLR- you certainly wouldn't be able to look through the viewfinder!!
