Canon G9 / G10/ G11 - comparisons?

I was thinking of picking up a Canon G9/10/11 for a bit of street togging and always being prepared. I generally use a Nikon D300, but of course can't always have that.

I do want good printable quality, lowish light level performance and of course low-shutter lag. The G11 seems to be probably he best all-rounder but it's also the dearest (others available secondhand). The G11 articulated monitor is a big bonus for some shots I am sure.

Anyone able to compare these cameras, maybe upgraded from a 9 to an 11, or maybe you can just say the 9 is fine, shutter lag is minimal. Any comments welcomed.

I sold my G9 last week and I must say it's a fine camera which can help you create some great pictures but ofcourse, with the small sensor, low-light performance is not that good. I've used it since early 2008 and had a lot of fun learning its features/functions while taking pictures of almost anything that crossed my path, thanks to its portability - it's due to this portability that I'm looking for a similarly-sized cameras now and not a full-fledged DSLR.

There is quite a bit of shutter lag, but with pre-focusing, I found it to be manageable.

That said, I have never used a DSLR or any more recent camera.

I do agree that the G11 has a very nice feature-set and the swiveling screen would indeed help with odd-angle/height shots ;)

I picked up a canon s90 a few weeks ago. The IQ is pretty much identical to the G11 and I am overall very impressed with what compacts are now capable of. The shots at ISO 2000 upwards are still surprisingly clean.
