Canon lens hood?

Looking to buy a lens hood for my EOS 60D (why don't they come with the camera like Nikons?)
After a petal type hood to fit on a 18-55 EF-S IS II lens (would it also fit a 55-250mm EF-S IS II lens?)
Most offered on amazon/ebay state they are for a 18-135mm lens!
what model would i need?

oh, looking for the bayonet type!!

Well, it's not really that crucial, anything that fits and does the job without getting in the way of the light path will do IMVHO. Reading up on this lens hood it looks like a bit of a dud, people seem to be saying it's not a specific optimum design for this APS-C lens, if all we read on the net is to be believed :D but the JJ design seems to be the same so either it is the right design or JJ just took their "inspiration" from the Canon design :D

Yes it will - I have a 55-250 on loan and use the lens hood from my 18-55 on it, I only have the shallow hood though and not the petal one and bought it from Amazon

(edt: just realised it it the ew-60 I have - I have a different hood for the 70-300, i'll check that one on the other 2 lenses just now)

They do come with the lens, all mine did, what you do when buying the lens is say, "well I assume you will throw a hood in if I buy it now".

No, Only the L series Canon lenses come with a hood from Canon.

I agree you should try to barter for the lens hood if you are buying a few items. I wish Canon did include the hoods with lenses though...
