Does anyone know where I can buy replacement screws for a canon lens... tiny ikle screws on the barrel of a 70-200 2.8 mkII

TA

AFAIK all such screws will be JIT type crossheads and as noted by Trevor would be specialised.

Two thoughts depending on how many needed and depending on where used in the lens......are you talking about the countersunk ones on the bayonet mount end?

Buy an old lens to cannabalise because they are a common element i.e. not unique per lens???
Get in touch with the small repairers that have been mentioned on various threads here @ TP to ask if they will sell you some of the appropriate ones???

HTH :)

Which ones? Can you post a picture showing where they go?

I thought they were JIS? Japanese Industrial Standard?

On a 70-200 the ones under the black rubber that keep the front end tight... keep coming loose and before I found out about JIS and bought the screwdriver set I had already done damage with a posidrive :( I was thinking to remove and replace.. canon will charge too much.. front comes loose too often for me :(

Drat, I posted JIT........was I describing the 'tool' type not the screw???

Yeagh hence why i needed a source rather than normal screws.. i ahve the srcewdriver set which was hard to find at the time...

Ah. We've never lost any of those. When they come loose - which they do - they can't fall out because the rubber grip keeps them in place. What have you managed to do, to lose them?

Anyway, if we did need some, we'd go to H Lehmann. They sell all the little spare parts and they'll know exactly which type you need.
