To cut a long story short, I broke (not on purpose of course) my brand new 400mm f5.6L last Friday. The hood got stuck.

On the Saturday I sent it special delivery to my nearest Canon service centre for warranty repair, which they received on Monday.

I got it back today (Wednesday), with a new hood, repaired as new.

That's what I call a fast and efficient service. Highly recommended. :)

They serviced my 100-400 L. Took less than a week and less than they quoted.

I visited Lehmanns in person in Stoke recently to get my 17-55mm f/2.8 calibrated and they were extremely friendly and efficient. It's not in the smartest area but I don't suppose that matters.

Hi Karl

Going to send my 200L there for a service after Xmas so glad to hear it's all sorted and was a painless experience.

I want mine serviced how much was it?

They quoted £350 for replacement of the focus motor and IS system, with clean down of the lenes and calibration. £160 for the base service clean down and calibration if possible due to age. As mine is a UN01 lens (jan 1999) I took the full service. When I picked it up the Price was £285 inc vat. This was back in august. Hope that helps. Knew the lens needed serviceing when the IS started clacking. I also noticed the lens was starting to be slow at focusing.

Sounds like the clutch(?) on the focus system needs greesing up and is a service center job only. They will do a good service. The only grip I have with them is the phones allways bissy. So I ended up going there with the lens.
