Hi Besides leaveing camera on is there a way to saftely fully disscharge a Canon LP-E6 battery .

The charger that came with the battery if I leave battery in it and not pluged in would that work ? I know its a dumb question but have to ask..

why can't you just leave the cam on?

Why do you want to fully discharge it?

Batteries no longer need to be fully discharged to retain their capacity - that only applied to Nicads - the modern NiMh batteries have no "memory" problems - at least as far as I know.

.

and you shouldn't fully discharge it anyway, only down as far as the camera will go (i.e. on Nikon once it gets to a certain level the camera locks up to prevent fully discharging the battery)
