Canon LP-E6 Battery for 60D

Hi

After some first hand knowledge please.

One of my friends is looking to upgrade to a 60D which takes the LP-E6 battery.

Does anyone use an aftermarket battery, which the genuine charger works with okay and the camera reads okay ?

Any help would be very much appreciated and which batteries / from where etc

i run 2 LP-E6 7dayshop equivellents in the grip of my 5Dmk2.

no problems at all and last for ages.

Not sure whether there are different types available from 7DayShop but the ones I got aren't serial-numbered. They work fine, charge in the Canon charger and the camera reads the levels but, as they're not serial-numbered, they don't show up in the history screen on my 7D.

No, you have to buy another charger which is really really expensive and totally cancels out the saving that you have made on the battery.

Nope, the batteries from 7dayshop work fine with the canon charger

Well the 7D remembers each official battery it's exposed to so you can view the battery levels of all your batteries as they were the last time they were in the camera. The copies I have don't do this so it means I just don't have this facility - no biggie really.
