Canon Map Utility failure

I've not used Canon's Map Utility for a while and when I went to use it tonight it wouldn't load and threw script errors with links to maps.googleapis.com and a message that it couldn't connect to the network (everything else can!).

Anyone any thoughts on this?

I seem to remember that Google made some changes a few months back that caused problems for quite a few utilities and websites that were tied to them.

I wondered if something like that might be the case. Canon UK have sent me a link to download Map Utility from their Asian site but that fails with the same errors.

I have discovered that uninstalling older versions of Map Utility do not always complete using the usual methods and so old files are left behind. I have used IObit Uninstaller and now a fresh installation of Map Utility is able to complete and run.
