Did a search but didn't find anything.
I know that opinions of microadjustment vary, so I wonder what people will make of this..
A software developer has used the Canon SDK to write a program that takes a series of images at different MA settings. It then does some image processing and decides which image was sharper and then sets the microadjust for the lens to whatever that was.
I've been reading feedback on another forum, results are mostly positive.

It has been tested on 5Dmk2 and 7D. It would appear the author is also testing on 1D/1DS and 50D when he can get his hands on cameras.
