I don't know if this has been asked before but, I have a Tamron 90mm SP Di Macro Lens, it has a 55mm filter diameter. Is there a way I can use the Canon MT-24 EX Macro Twin Lite with it? If so what adapters would I need? I have heard that I could use a Cokin A series 58mm filter adapter and a 55mm step down ring, is this true?

As you're aware, the MT-24 will directly mount onto some Canon macro lenses and use macrolite Adapters for others.
Canon's macro lenses with 58mm filter threads don't need an adapter but the 100/2.8 ISL, 180/3.5 L do.
Macrolite Adapters are available in a range of sizes from 52 to 72mm but they cost a few quid. Rather than get an adapter for 58mm, I'd get one with any future lens change in mind....ie, a 67mm one if you think an 100/2.8 ISL will be on your future shopping list. You just need the appropriate step-up ring to match them....ie, a 55-67mm like this one
