Hi, I have the sigma 300mm 2.8 which works fine with the canon x1.4,my question is would I get a better results using sigmas own x1.4 purely because they match ,if that makes sense...or is it likely I wont notice the difference. Thanks

Den i used the 120-300 and have tried Nikon 1.4 and the Sigma. The Nikon one on that lens was quite notchy when focusing but would focus where the Sigma is perfect. I found the Sigma to have better contrast as well. On the other hand i tried the Sigma 1.4 on the Nikon 600 f4 and it was notchy when trying to focus and no issues with the Nikon 1.4 on the 600. So i keep Sigma for Sigma and Nikon for Nikon.

Have to reiterate what Mark says above, I have the Sigma 1.4 tc for my 120-300 and its pin sharp, af speed is fast and accurate when it's used with the lens, wouldn't imagine the canon would be better or worse knowing how good their glass is. I also have the sigma 2x tc but that's very average and seldom gets used now, the canon one would have to be crap for the siggy to edge that one!
