I have a Canon Powershot G11 that I use as a 2nd camera when I can't be bothered lugging around my DSLR. Recently I have noticed I am getting terrible lens flair and under close inspection I have noticed that I have a couple of tiny scratches on the lens.

Is there anywhere I can send these to have the front element replaced?

No-one? I have even phoned Canon in Elstree who informed me they don't do it there. It would be a shame to throw out what otherwise is a great camera :(
 
I've had a G9 repaired and need a couple of years ago. If the G11 is the same as the G9 you won't be able to get the front element replaced. You'll need to buy the whole lens. On the G9 it costs £1555.00 plus VAT. So not a cheap job.

Funny enough....

I have a chip on the lens of my G9 right now and am about to send it off to have the lens replaced.

I will dig out the name of the place and post it on here as soon as I've found it.

Thanks for the reply! I hope the £1555.00 cost is a typo, I might as well get a G12..!
