Yes
Need to get myself a handy camera that i can take everywhere. I know the G12 is bulkier but i dont mind that much.

Whats the better out of the two?

What's going to be best in low-light?

Thanks Again guys.

S95 is fantastic, hand held night shots at 800 ISO, clear as a bell. Fits in jeans/trouser pockets and a joy to use. Carry mine everywhere and use it everyday. I know nothing of the G12.

Thanks for reply Danny, is the S95 user friendley & can u remember how much u payed for it?

It's very user friendly, you can set the control rings for what you like, I have them for shutter speed and aperture, it's like a mini slr.
:)
I paid £300 just before the VAT went up, it's £315 on Amazon at the moment, read their reviews, one of mine is on there.

Another plus one for the S95, cracking images, easy to use and pocket friendly. I paid £250 from WEX when there was a £50 off voucher floating about.

They use the same sensor, the S95 doesn't have a flash hotshoe, but couldn't really see myself carrying around a flash gun bigger than the camera anyway. The smaller size of the S95 means that it's easier to carry around, personally I think the G12 would be too big.

I have the S90 (S95 predecessor) and it is a great camera! All of the manual options you need in a very handy pocketable package.

The way I see it is the G12 is approx £30 more. You get a slightly longer range 140mm compared to 105mm but with the S95 you have a faster lens at the wide angle f2.0 compared to f2.8.

With the exception of the hotshoe, everything else is pretty much the same. so for me it would be the S95.

Check them out on www.dpreview.com, both recently reviewed and compared. Completely different cameras really.

Also on there, see the new Olympus XZ-1 - looks impressive and has f/1.8-2.5 lens.
