Canon prices in Asia question.

I have daily contact with Bangkok, if you can list what you're interested in I'll get the local prices for you.

I'll be off to Thailand in August :D Fantastic place :D Have you been before?

Asian prices are definitely cheaper than UK prices, having visited HK and Bangkok in the last year.

However you might find the difference between the US and Asia much less, as the US already has cheaper prices than UK in general, plus you would lose warranty coverage which could tip the balance?

I would be interested in the new 11-24 canon if the price was right but I really do see it being that much cheaper because it's so new. The other thing I would be interested in is a Lee 10 stop filter kit.

I have been there before but only for a couple of days. This time I will be there for 5 days with nothing to do except get lost with my camera. I can't wait to visit China town again.

I will also be in Hong Kong for a week and was wondering about prices there.

I was thinking the same thing. We have great prices from what I have been told. I'm not worried about the warranty. Believe it or not canon will warranty grey market items here. They just make it sound like they won't to discourage people from buying them in efforts to keep the price up.

Will pass on the details of those things and will post back later.

There's a lot to see in Thailand but one of my favourites is the big Buddha on the hill. Other than that for me the temples and just the general streets and sites are maybe better than the tourist parks.
