Just had my magazine through with a note about changes to CPS.

They are changing to three levels of membership for photography, with different benefits and membership requirements. The different levels of membership reflect the bodies registered.

Full details here: http://cpn.canon-europe.com/content/services.do

CPS membership – the new levels

The CPS system now offers three types of membership to professional photographers, plus a CPS Video membership for qualifying videographers, depending on the qualifying equipment registered with the scheme.

* Silver - membership is available to photographers who register two qualifying bodies and three qualifying lenses. Repairs to CPS-serviced equipment will also be turned around in five working days.
* Gold - membership is available to those who register two qualifying bodies and three qualifying lenses. Repairs to CPS-serviced equipment will be turned around in three working days with a free back-up loan service should this turnaround time be exceeded.
* Platinum - membership is available to professional photographers with a wider array of Canon equipment after registering three qualifying bodes and four lenses. Benefits of this membership include a two-day turnaround for repairs to CPS-serviced equipment and free back-up equipment loans.

Well that's me out then after years of membership
I've a 1dmk2 as my second body, suppose they want to force us to "upgrade."

Qualifying bodies at time of print are:

Platinum: Eos 5D II, 1D III, 1D IV, or 1Ds III only
Gold: as Platinum and also EOS 5D, 1D IIN, 1Ds II or 1V
Silver: as Gold and also EOS 40D, 50D, 7D

You're right. 1D mk2 doesn't qualify any longer.

Ditto...I'm not upgrading my second body just so I can be in CPS. Thanks but no thanks Canon, way to screw the pooch.
