Canon R6 + lens compatibility with EF 20mm f2.8

I have been testing a Canon R6 and it refused to work with the Canon EF 20mm f2.8 lens with the adapter connection between

According to compatible lenses list this should work

Has anyone else experienced this problem

I don't own that lens so can't help directly.

Does it come up with an error message or what else happens when you connect?
Could it be the connections are dirty?

No error message comes up - I get the 00 appear in the viewfinder instead I think it was, of the aperture. It was definitely in Auto mode. I tried manual mode and it stayed the same, and I could not take a photo in either option.

The lens works fine on my 5d4 though

I don't have this lens, so also no direct help. I do have a wide range of ef lenses and have not encountered such a problem so far. I'd try cleaning the connections as above as a first step. If that doesn't work, I'd go to canon directly to ask.

Gave a good clean even though it had worked on the DSLR amd it worked thanks very much certainly a strange one
