Canon RAW and CS5

Guys,

Just bought a new Canon 550D yesterday.
When I took a test shot to try on my CS 5 programme, the software cannot recognise the CR2 format of he Canon image.

Is this normal, or have I went wrong somewhere ?

I don't have CS5, but would have thought that it should recognise the 550D RAW shots - have you checked you are running the required ACR ?



According to Adobe you need minimum Camera Raw plug in version 5.7 or 6.1

You need to update your software just open CS5 then click on "Help" then "updates", it should then download and install all the latest updates and update ACR to version 6.7.

According to this guide the most up to date version of ACR you can get for CS5 is version 6.7.

Always best to get the most up to date version you can.
