Depending on the level of water ingression / seawater you may be better off buying one from ebay - can cost less than £300. A new sensor or main board would be more than that.

All the parts are going to have to come from Canon anyway - so the independents will only be marginally cheaper.

Interesting. On eBay recently, 5D Mk IIs have been going from anywhere between £600 and £1200. The average is probably around £900.

Try calling one of the numbers on this webpage and asking them. It's probably the most accurate estimated cost you'll get, and they'll tell you how much the estimate is likely to be.
