My be a thick question but I have a old ML 3 ring flash which wont work on my 30d or 7d , question is why and can it be fixed to work?
 
It was designed for the eos film cameras so will only output at full power on your camera ( I seem to remember that this unit had a switch to turn off one of the two lamps) either way you will have to adjust your settings manually using shutter/aperture and possibly iso as well depending on distance to subject etc to find the correct exposure (not too difficult on digital with the ability to review on the lcd) if you are shooting real close you may need to put some kind of modifiers on the flash to reduce the output (try masking tape).
