today i recieved my cable release which i brought from ebay for a mere £6.10 which is a bargain, its a genuine canon jobbie in brand new condition and its friggin tiny but i love it, do these gadgets actually make a big difference to your photo's

I have found mine very usefull for macro work - eliminates all poss movement, esp if using a lengthy shutter time.

Yup. If you really HAVE to have as steady a shot as possible such as in low light or long exposures, it is very handy indeed. Use in conjunction with mirror lockup to eliminate vibration.

And for £6.10 for a genuine Canon one, if you only use it a couple of times and decide it's not for you - you won't have lost anything and can will get your money back no hassle if you sell it.
