Canon S95 does it do burst mode, high fps at decent mega pixels?

My last compact Sony TX5 shot at 10fps at 10 mega pixels, which was good to ensure that action shot of my toddler had a better chance of capturing.

Having played with other compacts, for feel, size etc. Canon S95 seems good, apart from the price tag (which I might look at the likes of Canon SX220 HS).
 
According to the Canon specs page it only does 1.9.

10FPS seems a bit strange for a compact though, my 1D only did 8!!!
 
only 1.9, that's really slow.

the Sony TX5 was brillant in burst mode.

Forexample, when my wife was just using it P&S with me throwing the little one up and down in the air, it allowed to capture just the right moment from it.
 
I used to have a Sony T200 (***** IQ) and that had a surprisingly high burst rate, not sure what it was though
 
I think it is more that the Sony is particularly fast rather than the Canon particularly slow.
 
Sony Tx5 auto burst mode allowed this last year
