Canon salvage parts

I was wondering if there was anyone that would deal in salvaged Canon lens parts.

It got me thinking as some lenses are so expensive and some don't ever get repaired due to uneconomical costs. That there would be a market for some of these to be repaired with salvaged parts.

I have such a lens a Canon 500mm F4 IS that still works but still needs some parts to get it back to working properly.

Salvage camera gear turns up on Ebay all the time, it seems to go for crazy money though.....

Yep seen it. I suspect people are doing insurance jobs on it. I saw a 1Dmk4 with a 400mm 2.8 sell for stupid money. Nothing was salvagable from the bits.

Rather than whole items I am after their componets.
