Canon Shureshot S95 battery life

Hi Everyone

Got an S95 last week and been trying to see how many shots I could get on a single charged battery.

Well this lunchtime the camera shut down at 180 shots :thumbsdown: the sepcification says 200 shots. I was making quite a lot of use of the preview function and I appreciate less chimping will have an effect but interested to hear what others have found?.

I am hoping a few charge cycles on the battery will improve things.

Apart from this I think it's a fabulous camera

It's not great but the battery will hopefully improve after a few cycles.

The reviews generally state the battery isn't great. I use mine everyday, hard to say how much I get out of it, but the battery level indicater isn't that good. I generally charge it every week, but Ive only had it for three weeks.

I think i got around 200 on my first charge, and about 180 with my spare 3rd party battery that i had with my S90. Its not great.
I tend it have the display brightness turned down quite a bit, and also turn the constant IS off so its shot only. I think this helps.
