A link here to an active x control for Internet Explorer (or Firefox with IE plugin). N.B. Explorer 32bit only. (that is the explorer version not the OS, it will still work even with Win7 64bit as long as IE is 32bit)
Once the active X control is installed it will just run in your web browser when you connect and switch on your camera with your browser open. (I had to install the active X control manually for some reason "see the FAQ section")

The good thing was it gave me a count for my 60D which if I remember correctly EOSinfo couldn't.
Dont know which other Canon cameras it supports that EOSinfo doesn't so if anyone can get it to work with 500D 600D 7D etc then post your findings here.
It also has a handy utility for syncing your cameras date and time with your PC
